Active Volunteers Abroad (AVA), a registered U.S.-based nonprofit organization, connects compassionate volunteers with local communities across Asia. It was founded by a team with more than 20 years of experience in volunteer work and other fields essential to supporting volunteers.
We believe that volunteering abroad should create real, lasting impact — built on respect, partnership, and shared learning between cultures.
Starting in Cambodia and Indonesia, and expanding to Laos, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Philippines, AVA works with trusted local NGOs and its branches offices to design ethical, community-led projects that improve education, empower women, support health, climate change and environmental action, and promote sustainable development.
